Doctor Z and his staff saved my half marathon.
I had been participating in a training program (as a totally new-to-running runner) when I developed excruciating foot pain.
After x-rays confirmed there was no break, I went to ART to see what I could do to finish my race (it was only 3 weeks away and I had another 3 weeks after that). Turns out I was suffering from plantar fasciitis.
Dr. Z prescribed ultrasound therapy, exercises, massage, active release therapy, and stretches. I went to his office twice a week and by the day of my first race the pain was reduced enough for me to finish. I continued twice weekly visits for the next three weeks and by the second race, I was pain free.
Not only do I love his office for the miracle they performed on my foot (I couldn’t even walk on it without limping). But he and his staff were the epitome of professional and welcoming.
By the second week, they all knew my name and would ask after my training. Dr. Z made the ART work (which is NOT pleasant, but REALLY helped immensely) as positive as possible by offering constant words of encouragement and support.
A couple of times I had scheduling conflicts and they were pleasant and accommodating.
The office space is large and could comfortably fit several people receiving therapy. He has great equipment and well-trained therapists.
If you ever find yourself in the unfortunate situation to be suffering from any kind of soft tissue injury, you couldn’t do any better than to put your health and well-being in Dr. Zelinski’s competent and efficient hands.
While visiting Dr. Z, I instantaneously knew this was an amazing practice to get the tools I needed to get fixed. Within the first visit I knew I was getting the right treatment by the right doctors and everything was absolutely amazing!
I have worked with Devlin Gantt on my lower back and legs issues. Devlin has done a great job, I look forward to completing my treatments and getting back to running.
After suffering from severe sciatic nerve pain for several months, it wasn’t until I started treatment at Advance Rehabilitation that I am finally getting my life back to normal, pain free. Dr. Dorea Wilder has been instrumental in my recovery with her aggressive treatments, personal care and attention. She never gave up hope that I would get better. The support staff also played a significant part in my recovery with their intense therapy and exercise programs. They taught me the proper exercise techniques required to strengthen and maintain a healthy back. I want to say thank you and I am truly grateful to the whole staff at the Westgate location, they are awesome. I highly recommend Advance Rehabilitation. Five star!
Dr. Z is very thorough. He takes time to get to know you, your normal physical habits, behaviors, occupation, to figure out what is contributing to the pain. Not only he gives advice on exercises, he offers clear explanation of why things are hurting, which muscles need to be stretched, etc. I feel that I have better understanding of my body now.
Haven’t felt this good since….I don’t know when! I’ve had the pleasure of working with Dr. Engle for the past few weeks and I couldn’t be more thankful. My job is extremely physical and I am constantly having to seek out some type of relief (massage, chiropractic work, acupuncture)…I’ve tried it all. As soon as my first session with Dr. Engle began, I knew this was a guy who was going to go far beyond the “crack ‘em and get ‘em out” routine. As an athlete himself, he understands muscular and skeletal dysfunction and has an arsenal of pain relieving techniques. He’s a smart cookie and knows the body better than my primary practitioner.
My 5-page intake went beyond paperwork. It was the beginning of a detailed workout and adjustment. If you want passive care and someone to tell you they can fix everything, this isn’t the place to go. Dr. Engle realizes that a thorough course of treatment doesn’t stop in his office. He encourages massage and self-care, and doesn’t let you leave the office until you’re feeling a difference. Persistence and consistency is key for overall wellness. Chiropractic work isn’t magic, it takes time. But every time I leave, I’m a so much closer to feeling like my old self. Thanks Dr. Engle!
After 6 months of training for a marathon last fall, I developed an issue called Plantar Fasciitis. At the recommendation of a friend, I went to see Dr. Zelinski at Advanced Rehab.
When I walked into his office, I was amazed to see all the elite & professional athletes who he’d treated. Their pictures with hand written “thank you” notes to Dr. Z covered his walls. Upon seeing all the positive testimonials, I knew I was in good hands.
After a couple treatments by Dr. Z, the symptoms had completely disappeared, & I was back to pain-free training again. I finished my marathon & haven’t had the symptoms reappear since. I’d highly recommend Advanced Rehab & Dr. Zelinski.
I am an avid athlete who is constantly pushing my physical limits. I have seen Dr. Z (zelinski) at Advanced Rehabilitation before a while back but recently went to see him for a nagging ankle injury. Can I just say Dr. Z is fantastic! I sprained my ankle last summer and it just has not been right since. A pretty good amount of pain and tightness has kept me from running for several months. Nothing I did or anyone else I saw was able to get me healthy again. After one treatment with Dr. Z I was able to run for the first time in like 3 months! The knowledge and experience is amazing. All of the staff is great!
Dr. Wilder’s hands have eyes and little hearts of empathy. If I had a nickel every time I walked out of a chiropractic office feeling more crippled than when I came in pretending I received treatment, I could stack them high, roll them up and deposit them into my bank. Not the case with Dr. Wilder’s treatments. I ‘ve felt soothed, with the pain I came in with diminished greatly and optimistic for my back to heal and avoid surgery. I was in a lot of pain with ruptured disc and inflamed lumbar facets. Even after the first treatment, I was feeling much better. That was a month ago and now my life is back to normal. It wouldn’t have happened without Dr. Wilder’s intuitive approach to my treatment. She combines both profound knowledge of the body dynamics and a natural ability to enter into the muscle tissue with little invasiveness, which from my experience is very, very unusual.
I came to Advanced Rehab after suffering from IT band syndrome for about 6 months. I saw multiple doctors who recommended physical therapy, which helped a little, but I was still unable to run without getting shooting pain in my knee almost immediately. After investigating my condition on running forums, I wanted to try ART therapy, and a fellow graduate student recommended Advanced Rehabilitation.
For me, this treatment has been really successful–more successful within two weeks than anything else I have tried for this problem. Dr. Zelinski is very courteous and knowledgeable, and the office runs efficiently–I have never had to wait. The only reason why I hesitate to give Advanced Rehabilitation five stars is because, as one of the previous reviews indicates, this treatment isn’t going to be for everyone (note: they have other treatments too, but I have only done the ART and some physical therapy), and I can’t speak to whether they would steer you away from ART if it is not going to be appropriate. However, if you have done research and you think ART might be for you, I would totally recommend Advanced Rehabilitation. My experience has been overwhelmingly positive–I went from being unable to run for more than five minutes to being able to run five miles in the space of two weeks.
I’ve never been an injury-prone athlete, but after a fall during the International Track Season, that resulted in a case of whiplash and the aggravation of a persisting hip injury, I found myself in severe need of treatment for the first time in my life. It’s frustrating when all of the hard work and sacrifices you’ve made are suddenly rendered useless by an unfortunate injury. Dr. Z was one of the first specialists who actually listened to me and then persistently worked to not only treat the symptoms, but to diagnose the root of the problem and rid my body of it for good. I would not have entered the current Track & Field season with the ability, comfort and confidence that I did if it weren’t for the quality time I spent working with Dr. Z.
I have used Dr. Zelinski and others at Advanced Rehabilitation for the past 5 years for various issues like rehabilitation treatment after breaking an ankle and herniated disks to receiving ART to keep me active and racing everything from 5k fun runs to Ironman races all over the world. I use them as part of my training regimen to help me meet my training & race goals.
Dr. Zelinski and the great people at Advanced Rehabilitation helped me stay in top shape to win a United States Masters Swimming Championship in 2009 and also finish #5 in the World (FINA). I could not have achieved this without their help!
Dr. Zelinski came to the rescue on my sudden immobility. I woke up last week with a crick in the neck, no biggie…several days later it was feeling better. Then, a turn for the worse. I woke up with a re-injury and much more painful, barely able to move. My neck felt like it could not support my head. I am getting ready to leave for Yellowstone, much hiking and activity planned. Panicked and in pain, I did a yelp search and settled here. As soon as I left my appt, I was in much less discomfort. Second appt the next day and after a series of adjustments, stretching, exercises, etc., I am well on my way to normalcy. Dr. Z seemed to really know what was going on in there and took time to work through the pain.
Thank you Dr. Z and staff, I will still be able to enjoy my vacation as planned. A couple of days until I leave and I hope to be good as new by then.
